Shawl Pattern with Lace Bias Openwork

A versatile, triangular-shaped shawl that is very easy and quick to knit. While it is knit as a triangle, notice that it can be turned into a square blanket or afghan or other square garment by reversing the pattern once the desired half-size of the square garment is reached. You can further enhance this pattern by adding a beaded edging or a fringe, etc. This shawl was hand knit using US size 10 needles and the following JaggerSpun Zephyr 2/18 lace weight yarns were knit together:

  • Color 1:  Four (4)-50 gram balls created with four (4) strands in color Turquoise
  • Color 2:  Two (2)-50 gram balls created with three (3) strands in color Turquoise, and one (1) strand in color White
  • Color 3:  Two (2)-50 gram balls created with three (3) strands in color White, and one (1) strand in color Turquoise
